Discovering Lucy by Laura Dunaway
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I won this book about a month ago during and event on Facebook. It took me awhile to get to it, but it was SO worth the wait. I loved Discovering Lucy.
So when this book opens we get a glimpse into what Lucy's life was like before she moved to New York. I really enjoyed Lucy's character she was strong but also damaged due to her past. She was making her best effort at trying to move on alone. She moved away from her dark past and got a job in New York City and was making friends with her new roommate. She wasn't interested in finding another relationship and was constantly turning advances from men away. While she was at work she meets the only man that has made her feel something, Knox Taylor. She finds him charming and attractive, but is sticking to her guns and turns down his advances.
Knox Taylor is a very persistent man and when he wants something he doesn't give up easily and what he wants is Lucy Simmons. He sees her in the store where he is on the board of directors. He asks her for her phone number and she turns him down. Then after a night at work the two run into each other at a night club and things start to progress from their.
I loved these two characters. I loved that Lucy was affected by Knox from the very beginning but tried to stick to her decision of not entering into a relationship. They start out as friends and things slowly start to progress and I love the chemistry between them as things start to get steamy. Knox is such a sweet caring man and it is exactly what Lucy needs. Only she doesn't think she can ever trust another man after her ex. She also doesn't think she can trust her instincts about men since she was so wrong about men before. But Knox proves her wrong and their relationship really starts to take off. I loved the sweet kind gestures that Knox showed toward Lucy knowing that she needed to feel cherished. When they got intimate...boy was it sexy. Those sex scenes are very well written. things are going really smoothly for them and then Lucy gets reminded of her past.
I love this type of storyline because I like to see a woman find her HEA after such a dark past. This storyline is very well written as well as the characters. I love Megan and her boyfriend Sean. They were sweet and funny. I hated Mindy the psychopath though. The author does very well writing these characters so you can easily love or hate them. The storyline runs smoothly and there are never any dull spots that make you want to skip pages or wish it would get good...it was all very good for me. I look forward to reading more books by this author.

Hello, Hi and Hola...My name is Shannon but I like to use Shanoff as my alter reader ego. Shanoff loves to read and write reviews. She also really likes to promote books and make teasers. She really enjoys connecting with other readers to talk about books. She really really really likes connecting with authors to help spread the word about their books. Indie Authors need support because they depend on readers to help make their books a success. Also if you are wondering why Shanoff...it is the opposite of my name. You just say it to the clap on, clap off jingle and it makes it way cooler ;)
I am also on the Facebook as Shanoff Reads so feel free to friend me there too. I am always sharing giveaways or sharing other interesting things about books. I am on twitter too @shanoffreads, follow me! Just recently I have also started reviewing books for Crazy Daisy Book Whore give us a like!
Here are some fun facts about me. I am married to my very own version of HEA. I have 3 daughters, ages 8, 5, & 2. I have lived in Texas all my life, minus 6 months during my childhood where I lived in Venezuela. I am 31 years old. I love garden gnomes, I have a ton of them. I love to read :)
So, my blog is basically about all the books that I am currently reading or want to read. I post my reviews here and just recently I did my very first blog tour stop. That was a lot of fun! I really enjoyed getting it all set up, I am bit of a nerd like that. Along with the blog tour stop I did my very first rafflecopter giveaway. That was a ton of fun too!
Well, I guess that is enough about me for now. Welcome to my blog and I hope that you find my reviews helpful :) Oh before I go I just want to let you all know that I am currently reading Discovering Lucy by Laura Dunaway and so far so good :)

☆☆☆'s for Blissful Tragedy by Amy L. Gale
Blissful Tragedy by Amy L. Gale
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I was provided a copy of this book by the author through Crazy Daisy Book Whore's blog on Facebook for an honest review.
Okay I had to give this book three stars because it just lacked a whole lot. The idea and story were pretty good but there were too many cons for me to make a real connection with this book. I will start off with the things that did not click for me.
I found myself really hating the female lead Lexie. She is a little to whiny, selfish, self absorbed and sometimes an outright childish bitch. I did like somethings about her like who she was when she was around Van, but sometimes they were a little suffocation when they were together. I liked that she had a very strong will to use her degree and try to make her career work before dropping her life for a man she just met. Having said that I hated the way her career played out. It just didn't work for me and neither did the way she acted at work. Another thing that did not work for me was the pace of the book. It seemed to dwell on insignificant things rather than where the story would eventually head. It jumped from one thing to the next pretty fast and the only real thing that went in depth was...well I will get into that during the pros ;).
Van Sinclair is the epitome of rocker when we are first introduced but then his rocker persona quickly shits from manwhore to love sick puppy. Which don't get me wrong is nice when it is executed properly, but after a first meet he is hooked. It never really elaborated on why he was so drawn to her other than he wanted what he couldn't have.
Okay okay okay...enough of the cons because those just drag me down and I really hate to harp on things...now time for the pros.
The sexual chemistry between Van and Lexie as awesome. I loved the sex scenes as they were very believable and were written pretty well. I do think a little more description wouldn't hurt them, but they are pretty steamy the way they are. There are quite a bit of steamy sex scenes between them. I do love the devotion that Van shows toward Lexie and the one she shows towards him when her head isn't shoved up her ass. I liked that Van was very protective of her and wanted to keep her safe. I also loved the friendship between Jenna and Lexie and how it grew throughout the story. I did like the fact that Devil's Garden band wasn't your typical drug, sex and alcohol band and the members seemed to be okay. I am definitely a fan of the way it ended.
If you like rocker romance then this book is right up your alley. I just didn't connect with it, but that doesn't mean that you won't. I looked at some other reviews of people that really raved and loved it, but it just wasn't for me.

☆☆☆☆☆'s for The Mortal One by Shannon Bell
The Mortal One by Shannon Bell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I was gifted this book for an honest review...and boy what a gift.
I really enjoyed this book. I am not really one for paranormal books anymore, but this one is definitely the exception. I got into this book right off the bat. It is different from others and very well written.
When this book opens we meet Dylan while she is in Transylvania feeding her obsession of vampires. She thinks she has hit the jackpot, but soon realizes that the 'vampire' she met is just a wannabe who drink animal blood. Disappointed that she didn't find what she was looking for she moves onto her european vacation. First stop Paris. While she is enjoying the sights she gets spooked and decides to cut her Paris trip short and head to her next destination of Florence. This is where things pick up and get a little more interesting.
This is where we meet Nico. He is exactly what Dylan has been looking for and when the two meet you can feel the connection right off the bat. Nico begins to tell Dylan all about his history and the history of other like him. He also tells her that he has been given a choice of what to do with her since she now knows the truth. He is surprised at the decision she makes...and this is where the story really starts to pick up.
With the decision made 'grooming' begins and Dylan is sucked into Nico's world. While things start to progress suddenly someone from Dylan's past appears even though she has no clue who he is he definitely knows who she is. This turns Dylan and Nico's lives upside down a bit and they have to figure out a way to solve their problem. This little problem really makes the storyline interesting.
Okay my thoughts on this read. I loved the characters even the not so nice ones. Dylan's character is very well written and very likable. She isn't whiny or an overall pain in the ass. She is very certain of what she isn't unreasonable. I really like the parts when she gets caught up in her thoughts and then remembers that they aren't hidden from those around her.
Nico is your classic vampire and I really like his character too. I like that he gets jealous of other men and I like the way he feels toward Dylan. The only thing that would make Nico better would be some chapters in his POV, but it isn't necessary. You can feel his attraction to Dylan through her POV and it is pretty strong.
My next pro is the sexual chemistry as well as the sex scenes. Let me tell you they are HOT. I love their sexual encounters and how they both get caught up in the moment. The scenes are well written and do not disappoint. This storyline is very well written and better than other vampire books that I have read. I enjoyed the pace of the book. It isn't rushed and there aren't a whole lot of unnecessary filler parts either. It is part of a series and I am looking forward to the next one. I definitely would recommend this book if you are into Vampire Romance books. This is definitely a good one :)

Interview with Hayley
Have you ever had an attraction to a bad boy? Oh God yes – where are the good boys???
Have you ever fallen for someone who was out of bounds? No – however I craved a forbidden romance as a teenager.
Have you ever craved someone you hated? No – I’m too good at hating lol.
Are your parents divorced? Yes but I don’t have any step siblings.
Have you ever had a holiday romance? No – that one passed me by.
Have you ever loved someone so intensely that you couldn’t bear the thought of living without them? Every day <3
Do you have a best friend like Ashley? Yes, I have an extremely close and amazing best friend but she isn’t as selfish as Ashley.
Do you regret letting a long lost love go? No, I have found my bad boy.
Have you found your HEA? Yes ….. thank God.
My Inspiration Behind the Characters
I have always loved angst ridden romance ever since the days of ‘My so called life’ and ‘Party of five’. I love the idea of a romance that is doomed to fail despite how much the characters are drawn to each other. I wanted to create a story where the characters were unable to stay apart but didn’t really like each other. I also don’t like stories where the end is a foregone conclusion and so I like the reader to always guess what will happen next.
My inspiration for Sophie was the teenage angst movies that I have enjoyed my whole life. The torture of feeling like you don’t quite fit in and the hardship of realising that your parents aren’t perfect. You realise that your mum can love again and be giddy. You realise that you can get yourself into trouble and don’t have to ask permission for everything. My own teenage experiences and those of my friends were drawn on heavily.
Sophie gets a bad rep in some reviews for being whiny and selfish but really all she is someone who is too scared to just be herself and accept what she wants. She’s a typical teenager who worries more about what everyone else thinks rather than just following her heart.
My inspiration for Kyle was every bad boy in fiction that I ever read, in my mind he was a lot harsher than I wrote him but it didn’t translate to paper and he became a tortured good guy deep down. I wanted him to be a mixture of Jordan Catalano from ‘My so called life’, Griffin from ‘Party of Five’ and Patrick from ’10 things I hate about you’.
Someone who is adored by people but doesn’t require the adoration, who is effortlessly cool but doesn’t need the acceptance.
Interview with Ashley
Hi Ashley, so you’ve just had your second child and Sophie her first. How is she coping with motherhood?
Yes I have a three month old called Oakley and she has her little princess Iris. She is doing amazing, her and Kyle are just natural parents and despite the sleepless nights she still manages to look amazing, it’s nauseating.
What did you think all those years ago when you found out about Sophie and Kyle?
I was totally surprised because she always seemed to hate him. I mean everyone at school thought he was to die for and Sophie always said that he was an idiot. Even before their parents dated she was never swayed by the popular crowd and I think that’s why I was surprised the most.
When you realised they were seeing each other did you initially think it was a bad idea?
Oh God who was I to judge? I mean I was chasing Vinnie all over the place which was always doomed to fail back then and so her having some drama sort of made me feel like I had someone to compare notes with.
Over the years had you assumed that Sophie had moved on?
I suppose so, she never really mentioned him after that summer. I used to stroke her head and wipe her tears, speak to her late into the night *laughs* those days were sad but we also became so close back then. Our shared heartache those first few months at uni made us closer than ever. She’s always been so strong, and when she met Simon I just thought thank God she’s found someone. I was so happy for her.
When did you realise that Sophie and Simon were not right together?
I think I knew before she did because I never thought she seemed particularly excited by anything he did for her. She never seemed to be blown away by him. I tried to speak to her about it but she always brushed it off saying everyone’s relationships were different. When he ended things I was so sad for her because she was humiliated having to cancel the wedding but I thought he had done the right thing.
At first you tried to stop Sophie from rekindling things with Kyle, how do you feel now?
Well it was heartbreaking to see her so devastated after they stopped seeing each other all those years ago and I suppose I always thought that Kyle was the bad guy who had used her all summer and then dumped her and left her high and dry. Then I saw her face after I had Stanley and when she talked about him I knew that she felt so much more for him than she ever had for anyone else. I couldn’t be happier for her now.
What do you hope for Sophie and Kyle in the future
Sophie is the best friend that anyone could ever wish for, she’s loyal, supportive and non-judgemental and the only thing I have ever wanted for her is complete and utter happiness. I definitely think she has found that with Kyle. I want our children to grow up together and for us to grow old together as grannies with style.
The British Psyche that causes love to be even more torturous...
Brits are polite and say sorry a lot,
They keep their feelings bottled up and tied in a knot,
They find it hard to say exactly how they feel,
Keeping emotions hidden well, even as they heal.
Brits often tend to worry what other people think,
Not usually finding it easy to throw caution to the wind.
They need a cup of tea to calm any storm.
They need validation and like to conform.
When it comes to love, Brits find it hard to express,
Exactly how they feel which can leave them in a mess.
It’s hard to win at love if you aren’t prepared to say.
Just how much you feel and I love you every day.
Despite their guarded nature they love strong and deep.
You get loyalty and trust, qualities to keep.
The words are not forthcoming but actions certainly are,
Which speak louder than words and are preferred by far.
MY REVIEW
Just Between Us by Hayley Oakes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
~~*~~*~~*~~* Spoilerish ~~*~~*~~*~~*
I received this book from the Author for an honest review.
Okay...I am going to kick this review off by giving you the reason for the four stars instead of five. It all had to do with Sophie being a waffling twit. I liked her character don't get me wrong, but her misery was so self inflicted and the bad part is she never even realized it until she pushed too far.
Alright now that I just spit that right out let me get to the really good stuff. Now I normally do not care for book that flashback as sometimes it can just get confusing, but the Author did a really fantastic job with making sure you knew Then from Now. This book touched on a somewhat of a taboo subject of a step brother and sister having a relationship. It started in their teen years and they were both too young and immature to realize the enormity of their feelings and actions.
When the book opens it starts with Sophie being a mess because she is at her childhood home on what should be her wedding day. She had been engaged to her safe and normal fiancee and they should have been starting the safe and normal life only he called off the wedding one month before. Now she was back living with her mother and step father moping and feeling sorry for herself....
Enter Kyle, step brother. He is charming and sweet. He focuses his attention on Sophie and tries to pull her out of her funk. He brings her back to London with him so that she can escape her life a little and find herself again. His intentions are completely innocent even though he is still in love with Sophie. I love that we get just a few little parts in Kyle's POV. It helped to connect with his character even more, both Then and Now. During his younger years we get to see him as a moody asshat, but when him and Sophie really start to get to know each other you can't help but fall in love with Kyle.
So I guess you have figured out that when these two start to spend so much time together as adults that the sparks start to fly and there is nothing to hold them back. They are safe to be a couple in London because nobody they know is around. Everything is great until an emergency calls them back to their hometown and then Sophie starts to be the twit that she is and things blow up.
I won't tell you how it ends but I will say that I am very happy with the ending. I enjoyed this book because it was just a little bit different from the norm. I loved Mags. She is a great mother and really understanding. Ashley is pretty awesome friend to Sophie too. Mick even had some likable qualities.

Just read this...
LEDGER by Kemmie Michaels
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I was provided a a copy of this through Crazy Daisy Book Whore for an honest review by the Author.
I loved this book. It is a sweet and sexy romance with a quite a bit of intense drama. The characters in this book are pretty awesome especially Ledger.
When we first meet Cam she is leaving the only life she has known for the last couple of years with nothing more than the clothes on her back and what is in her purse. We learn that she has been living a controlled life with her boyfriend Garrett Masters. He isolated her from everyone she knows all under the guise of wanted what is best for her. She finally had enough and walks out the door right out to the curb where her friend from childhood, Shelby, picks her up and takes her away to start her new life. Now she must find herself again and try to make it on her own with the help of her friend. She is determined that her new life has to work and that she must get a job even though she has no job skills. It is during this time that Shelby suggests a night out because Cam needs to let loose.
Enter one sexy, sweet, muscled and tattooed bartender...Ledger. *swoon* He notices right off the bat that Cam is caged by her past and has lost herself. He recognizes this in her because he too has a past. Ledger decides that he is going to help Cam free herself and boy does he ever. He is such a smooth talking sexy man. He is careful with her and makes sure she knows she always has a choice. He wants everything from her but only if it is her choice.
As their relationship grows and both of them begin to get closer Cams past catches up with her and threatens her new life. They both stick together as their friends Mason and Shelby stick by them also until IT happens and then both are left a little lost and feeling alone until things can be resolved. During this time Ledger finds support in his friends and gets help from them as well as Dig. Who is Dig? Well, you will just have to read to find out who Dig is.
I am very happy with the way all the things in this book played out. This is definitely a book worth reading.

Commencing countdown...14 DAYS until SLADE (Walk of Shame #1) by Victoria Ashley releases!!!!
Slade
My name is Slade Merrick and I’m a f*cking sex addict . . .
I’ve been told it’s a problem. But I see it as a passion; something that I’m good at. And who the f*ck stops something that they’re good at?
They want me to seek help; get my c*ck in check. Don't judge my lifestyle. You’re no better than me. Just admit it, you like to f*ck too. Sex is what I do best; my own personal high, so I embrace it instead of being ashamed.
When I'm not f*cking, I'm slinging drinks at Walk Of Shame or stripping my way into your bed; another thing I'm good at. Every woman’s darkest fantasy brought to life.
So, am I stopping? F*ck no. Sex is beautiful, raw and erotic and I get off knowing I can have it with anyone I want . . . with the exception of her.
Aspen.
She walks into the club swaying those hips, instantly drawing my c*ck to attention. She’s pure perfection. That is, until she opens that mouth, drawing me in and for the first time in forever I want something more than sex. I want her and she hates it.
Things get dirty. Dirty is what I like; it’s how I live. But . . . she’s playing a game she can never win.
***Author's note*** Due to strong language and a very high amount of dirty, sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18. This is #1 in the Walk Of Shame series of novellas that will all be STANDALONE reads. If you're not into, cocky bad boys with filthy mouths and even filthier sex, then this series is not for you. If you are . . . then, come meet the dirty boys of Walk Of Shame.

Stupid Girl by Cindy Miles
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I received this book for an honest review. ***May be a little spoiler-ish****
I absolutely fell head over heals in love with the bad ass, dirty mouthed, inked up, pitcher from South Boston. I have always had a very soft spot for Boston. I love that city. Being from Texas I also have a soft spot for books set in Texas. As long as they are well written and this book is very well written.
When this book opens we meet Olivia Beaumont just as she has been through the most traumatic experience of her life and to make matters worse she can't remember any of it. Just the after...Then it is a year later and she is starting her college life hours away from home where know one knows her (so she thinks). This is where that Southie comes in when he quite literally knocks Olivia off her feet. This is where Olivia/Gracie's (Gracie is only what Brax calls Liv) story really begins when she meets Brax Jenkins...Winston Colleges resident heartbreaker with a short fuse.
At first I found that these two characters were just way to different to ever be able to be with each other, but as most great Authors do she made it work. Slowly their characters started changing for the better to compliment each other. Brax was making Gracie open up and she started to trust him. Then of course like all NA romance that huge huge debacle happens and it is really gut wrenching. This Author definitely has the ability to pull emotions through her words. When Brax had betrayed Gracie and their whole fall out happened it was so so sad considering all that Gracie had already been through. It broke my heart when some truths came to light and shattered Gracie just a little bit more. Then things spiraled just a little bit more and more devastation rocked her. Brax stood by her and comforted her and came clean.
What really made me love this story was when everything started happened, I liked that the Author used that to further the story instead of just smoothing right over the things that made it all fall apart to begin with. Most books these days are just written for the HEA and not enough happens to make it really believable. I am very happy with how all the things played...well most all. I still think that KE should have gotten more than a butt whooping.
I definitely think this book is worth the read. It is emotional, funny, sweet and sometimes very intense. The two main characters have such chemistry that you can feel it right off the bat. It also touches on a very delicate subject, but is very well written. Give it a try you won't regret it.

I have drank the Kool-Aid and now I am TAINTED!!!
Tainted Bodies by Sarah Robinson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
So, I have had this book for awhile and wasn't really in a rush to read it. I have heard really great things about this series and how everyone has bee sucked into it. These are usually the books that give me pause. I am always sure that I will not be as enthralled as everyone else. But holy crap was I wrong.
I will admit that this book was little slow in the beginning and had me thinking "Really? This is what everyone is all fired up about?" I was even feeling a little down in the dumps that I would have to write a poor review and I have really come to like the Author. That is when shit got real and the story really kicked into over drive. There aren't men walking around with guns and blades threatening to shoot some shit up, but there are some pretty heavy subjects that really consume you.
This book isn't very long as it is part of a trilogy but it is very well written. The storyline is strong and is no way rushed or glossed over. The characters are well written in whether you love them or hate them. There are so many suspicious characters that I am dying to read book two. Lucky for me I have it in my queue :). At first while reading it was hard for me to get into the POV that the story is told from but after telling myself to suck it up I wouldn't want the story in any other way.
So this book starts with how Kate and Derrick meet and it continues with how their relationship grows. This is where I still wasn't sold because I am still in a romance frame of mind...their relationship just seemed flat. But then when the "thing" happened I knew that this book is definitely crime and that is the frame of mind I need to be in. Once I flipped my switch I was consumed with needing more. This is also around the same time that I was starting to get pissed at Derrick and a little ticked with Kate for being such a pushover. But again crime not romance. I am curious to see how all of that plays out...
I am in love with this series and I can not wait to read more!

It is LIVE!!!
The Wedding Contract by H.M. Ward
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
What the Ferro Fuckery? Ha! I love Skylar!!
I received this from the Author for an honest review.
Let me start this off by saying that I am so biased because I have read every Ferro book, serial or series and I am in LOVE with all the Ferro men. I am so addicted that I have started to refer to them as my Ferroine. When a couple weeks go by and I haven't had my Ferro Fix I tend to go through withdrawals ;)
Alright on with it. I love this Ferro novel because it is a little a lot different from the others. It isn't as dark as the others and there isn't a whole lot of Ferro sex. I mean come on these Ferro/Granz men are known for the large sexual appetites ;). Don't get me wrong there is plenty of sexual tension to get anyone hot and bothered. Nick and his leading lady Skylar did not disappoint as two leads in a Ferro Novel.
Skylar is such funny character. This girls seemed to have THE worst bad luck. It is funny bad luck, but bad luck all the same. Of course she had a lot of help in finding herself in those situations because Nick Ferro was definitely out to get her. I love all of the hilarious shit that came out of Sky's mouth or just when she was ranting in her head.
Okay okay Nick Ferro...*swoon* he has got to be one of the sweetest Ferro men (you know when he isn't out to crush some competition into the ground). He is probably as vanilla as the Ferro men get (sex wise) but it is still just as sexy. I love how we see his character start to regret the things he is doing. I love those moments when both he and Sky are alone and the sexual tension is just so thick. I definitely love that Nick Ferro stood up for himself to mighty Ferro parental units.
Ferro Addict for LIFE!!!
Also, the forward that H.M. Ward's husband Mike wrote was pretty fan-freaking-tastic!!

Under My Thumb by Abby Reynolds
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I really enjoyed reading this book. The storyline is a little different than most music romance books that I have read. I did not know that it was part of a series, because sometime I can be oblivious, but I still enjoyed it anyway.
So we meet Prudence when she is leaving London for her band to tour around California for the summer. Only she has already decided to move there permanently. She has had a little bit of a rough time in London recently and she believes that a new start where no one knows her is just what she needs. She has just finished her first show and that is when she meets him...
Cash. He is a television producer with a jaded outlook due to being burned from a previous relationship. All he has now are arrangements and this is what he approaches Prudence with. An arrangement to have a relationship without strings, but no lies.
Everything is going great. They love to be around one another the sex is off the charts and they talk about anything and everything. Then things change and neither one knows how to tell the other and that is when the poop hits the fan and how we are left. Cash is distraught because Prudence left him with only a letter.
What will happen next? Will Cash find Prudence? Will they confess their feelings to each other? I guess we wait for the second book in the Serenade Series.
Okay...Now I will give you my reason for the 4 stars instead of 5. I liked the character really well, but their lack of communication for two honest people was just a tad unbelievable considering that they both usually said what was on their mind. You know honestly and all that stuff. I felt that Prudence and the rest of her band mates just weren't English enough. Their dialogue just didn't feel like people from London, but that isn't really that big of a deal. My other big con was the build up to both Cash and Prudences 'past'. It just wasn't that bad for me to validate both of them being so against relationships and love. But that is just me. That is really all of the cons for me.
The pros. The chemistry between Cash and Prudence is very believable and you instantly connect with the both of them and their blossoming relationship. I like that this focused on their story versus a bunch of nonsense that takes away from the storyline. Even though Gavin was a huge tool I like that he felt so strongly for Prudence. I love the bond that Jeremy and Prudence have. You can tell that they were each others worlds, until Cash. I love Cash's mom and family. They were so loving and you just know that they will give Prudence the sense of family that she so desperately needs. I love dual POV. It is always a big plus when you get to read from the male POV and female POV all in the same book and Cash's POV does not disappoint.
Overall this book is pretty good.

Review to come!

Rush Too Far by Abbi Glines
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Oh my my...oh hell yes!!! I LOVE Rush Finlay. This book from his POV made the love I have for Rush grow to epic proportions! He is one sexy, dirty talking hunk of man.
Okay Okay...let me get on with this review before it turns into a Rush drool fest. So I have loved Rush since his first appearance in Fallen Too Far, even though he was an epic asshole to "Sweet Blaire". Everything told from Rush's POV made the series that much better and I just might need to re-read it. That Rush fix was good but I need more ;). He definitely is in my Top 10 all time favorite BBF's.
In this book we get everything that went through Rush's head that wasn't in the first book. I will admit that sometime in the first book I hated Rush for seemingly always picking Nan over Blaire. But getting all his thoughts while all the Nan drama was happening lets you understand just a tad bit more about who Rush Finlay is. I killed me all over again reading that last chapter...I wanted it to keep going even though I already know how it ends I felt like I needed to read it again. It was also pretty cool to see how Rush see's everyone in Rosemary.
So thank you Abbi Glines your books are awesome. I love this series as well as The Rosemary Beach series!

I am so excited about this book. I love me some Rush and Blaire and can not wait to read Rush's POV of book one Fallen Too Far. If you haven't read this series you need to! I started reading this series on my Nook app so I don't have reviews up for all of them, I should but I don't. I have rated them on Goodreads though.
Here are the links to the other books, just in case you haven read them.

Tempt My Heart: A Brittan McKenna Novel by Danielle Jamie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I was gifted this book through the Crazy Daisy Book Whore blog on Facebook.
Let me start by saying when I read the blurb and snippets of reviews about crying and such I thought for sure i wouldn't be one of those...well I was WRONG! I bawled my eyes out. This is a powerful story and easily relatable because I remember my own emotions during 9/11 and after. I felt very connected to Brittan and Cane from the beginning. I love that this book starts out going over the past that Brittan shared with Cane. it really helped you connect with her character and feel the love of their relationship. You have to really connect with that part of the story to be able to connect with the rest of the story.
When the book starts Brittan is in rehab and reflecting on her past when she was 15 and just met Cane and from then on their relationship grew to epic proportions for being so young. You can feel their love and chemistry but also their respect and acceptance of each others lives. I love that we get their entire story before the rest of the story takes place. It made the story more enjoyable because I was never waiting to know what happened before that made her the way she is. By having the first part of the book about the past you were able to feel her emotions and understand her character all the better.
The book switches to present day and Brittan has now gone through rehab and is sober and fixing to try living her a life that would make Cane, her friends and family proud of her. What she didn't plan on was dancing with a sexy stranger who all of sudden evokes strong feelings from her that will eventually change her life. This is where another awesome surprise comes in for me...the dual POV.
Jordon Valentine guitarist for newly discovered rock band who knows he is a sexy rock god and has the skills to back it up. We first meet him in the tour kick off celebration when him and Brittan share one sexy as hell dance (maybe more but you have to read to find out). I could tell that these two have some explosive sexual chemistry and I just couldn't wait to see how it all played out.
Of course Brittan is has a triple reinforced wall built around her heart to avoid any more pain that can come of losing love, but she just can not get Jordon Valentine out of her head. She isn't used to having thoughts of a man beyond quick hot sex and she starts to struggle with her feelings toward Jordon and her feelings for Cane. This is where I really love this authors writing style, because unlike most authors she doesn't make you spend more that half the book being pissed off at the two characters for tap dancing around each other. She makes them real and honest. She makes them communicate and open up to the possibilities of their budding relationship. I will admit I spent a good part waiting for the other shoe to drop and the big blow up to take place where they leave each other only to come crawling back a few pages later...but alas I was WRONG again. and that is a really good thing.
I love this book. It is emotional, edgy and erotic when it needs to be. It is sweet and loving. It is fun and entertaining.
Happy reading!!!
