Review ... Promise Me Forever by Paige Weaver

Promis Me Forever
by Paige Weaver

From the New York Times, USA Today, and international bestselling author, Paige Weaver, comes the epic conclusion of her fourth book, Promise Me Once…

In the weak, there is strength. In despair, there is hope. My world was dark. Survival was tough. But the end of the world saved me. It taught me to love. To go on living. In its darkness, I found myself. In its bleakness, I found hope. I wasn’t the girl I used to be. I was stronger.

I was with the man I loved. The cowboy with a quiet presence who took what he wanted, including me. He showed me love and gave me strength. He touched me and I was never the same. I didn’t want to love him but I couldn’t resist. I was his. But the world was trying to tear us apart.

Love may save us or it may be our destruction. We may die for it or sacrifice everything to keep it. The choice will not be simple. Live or die. Love or lose. I was about to find out which one…

**I received an ARC for an honest review.**

Another great addition to this series. I have been in love with this series and it's characters since the beginning and I am so happy that Cash got his HEA.

True to the rest of this series, it kept me on the edge of my seat. So many emotions ran through me while I was reading this book until the very end and even then I was holding my breath waiting to see what was next. Many times during this book I was gutted. I was hurt and angry by all the things that Cash and Cat had to go through to survive. I hated every single bad thing that they went through, but at the same time it really spoke of the strength these two characters have.

This book picks up where Promise Me Once leaves off and it still left me hanging for a couple of chapters as to what was happening. I couldn't consume the first few chapters fast enough until I knew what was happening and that things would start to look up. Well, even though there was some break in the crazy, it was still packed full of tension and kept me reading to see what would happened with these characters.

Paige Weaver does an amazing job of keeping you in this crazy post EMP world. This is my favorite series in this genre and I would really like some more, preferably Keely and Gavin's story or maybe a little bit of Adam.

If you like really sexy romance with an amazing storyline that will keep you no the edge of your seat then this is a great series to read!

New Release with Review ... Mastered by Maya Banks

The #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Surrender Trilogy and the Breathless Trilogy knows what makes readers hot. Now she turns it up in Mastered, the explosive first book in a new series of a desire too dangerous to resist.

The Enforcers #1
by Maya Banks

What he wants, he takes with no remorse or guilt.

She stood out in his club like a gem, unspoiled and untouched. A lamb among wolves, she clearly didn’t belong. Drawn to her innocence he watched as she was surrounded by men who saw what he did—but no one but him could touch her. He summoned her to his private quarters. He sensed her fear. He also recognized the desire in her eyes. And he knew she wouldn’t leave before he possessed her. She had no need to know his secrets. Not until he had her under his complete and utter control.

What he wants, she isn’t sure she can give him.

The moment he told her want he wanted, she couldn’t resist. Instinct told her to run, but her heart said stay and walk the fine line between pleasure and pain. Though she wasn’t sure she could ever completely surrender, the primal part of her wanted to try, even knowing this man could break her in ways she never imagined. Because once he possessed her, he owned her and it would be too late to turn back. She can only pray that he doesn’t destroy her in the end.

This rating is a bit different than normal for me. I really enjoyed where this book ended up overall, but the beginning was a bit slow going for me and at times a little hard to get on board with. So, I guess if the beginning made this book a 3 STAR read for me, but I stuck with it and it eventually made the 4 STAR mark.

As I said the beginning is a bit slow and a bit hard to get on board with, just because some parts move at lightning speed awhile others seemed to drag on and on. Like Evangeline getting dressed and ready for the club and everything that happened between then and the initial "meet" seemed to drag on. But once the meet happened that seemed to fly by and left me a bit stunned an shocked. Sexy as hell, but still shocked and bit reeling that it happened so quickly and was over like a hit and run.

Once the story started progressing I couldn't get through it fast enough. I loved getting to know each one of Drake's men and I loved watching them be flummoxed by Evangeline and her personality. I loved that once she deemed somebody special she defended them a protected them in her way and Drake's men were no different, even to her "friends." Evangeline's friends are another part of this book that I disliked. At the beginning they are shed in light that makes them look like the best friends ever, but that is soon over with when Evangeline makes her decision. I hate that her friends shunned her and treated her as they did, but I am hoping that in Dominated they will get the wrath of Evangeline.

The way this book ended left me both satisfied and oh so unsatisfied. I hated not getting their whole story, but oh my gosh I am so happy that the author did not rush it and kept to her writing style. I do feel though that some of the the sexy parts of this book were a bit distracting with the characters wayward thoughts and inner dialogue. But at the same time I see why those parts were necessary to fully understand the characters in those moments, although distracting, it did make for more intimate sexy scenes.

I can not wait for the rest of Drake and Evangeline's story and I can not wait for more of The Enforcer's series! I need me some Maddox and Silas too.

Review ... Perfect Ruin by Nashoda Rose

Perfect Ruin
Unyielding Book Two
by Nashoda Rose
Release Date: December 14, 2015

There is nothing I care about.
No attachments.
No connections.
Outwardly, I’m a perfect gentleman.
Until my target sees my knife.
I fear nothing, not even death.
In my world, death is considered a privilege.
But my life comes with unbreakable cruel strings and
when I met her, I should’ve walked away.
I didn’t.
I was too selfish.
And that sealed her fate.
Because one week with me led her into the hands of ruin.

We all have unique layers that make up who we are.
What makes us vulnerable or strong.
What we fear and what excites us.
But peel back those layers and you’re left naked and exposed.
They did that to me.
Each piece was slowly stripped away then burned.
I merely existed.
But there was one layer they overlooked.
The most important of them all—the tie to one man.
The man responsible for me being this way.
The man who found me.
And the killer who would do anything to protect me.

'Perfect Ruin' is the dark erotic story of Kai and London.
Their beginning.
And the continuing story of Vault.

These books just get better and better with each new one. This Unyielding Series has really captured my attention and I am loving getting to know these other characters that I have been curious about since the previous Teas Asunder Series.

After reading Deck and Georgie's book I was so much more intrigued with Kai. The little bit more that we got to know about him was enough to have me hooked.

This story really delves more into Vault and gives us so much more information. I loved all the action in this book, there was quite a bit and it was written really. This storyline kept me on the edge of my seat multiple times and always needing to know what would happen next. The sexy action was really great too, as it is with all the books I have read in this series.

I knew that Raven would eventually make another appearance and I was really curious about them since the very beginning. I loved Raven/London from he start. I liked her sweet but stubborn personality. I liked that even though she was anything as braved, that she was brave when it mattered. The way that she felt connected to Kai and safe with him always was another part of this book that I liked. No matter what she had been through she knew that she was always safe with Kai.

I loved seeing Kai transform from the uncaring killer that he was into the man he was by the end of this book and all because he met London. She sparked something in him that he tried to fight but ultimately failed. Kai is definitely one of my favorite male leads out of the two series.

But, I have a feeling Connor might steal that top notch status when I get to read his story. This series is great and I am completely hooked. I can't wait for more.

Must be read in order:
(Unyielding, #1) Deck and Georgie

(Unyielding, #2) Kai and London

(Unyielding, #3) Connor’s story (February 2016)

Review ... The Lover's Surrender by J.C. Reed

The Lover's Surrender
No Exceptions Book 4
by J.C. Reed

The last book in the Amazon Bestselling Series No Exceptions, where love tries to conquer and darkness continues to destroy....

She is running away and has no intention of ever returning to him. Dangerously sexy and arrogant millionaire Jett Mayfield knows his secrets are not doing him any favors. However, when they serve to save Brooke's life, he has no intention of revealing them. ***Full-length novel, 61 000 words***

J.C. Reed is a New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author.

Please note: The No Exceptions series is the spinoff of the SURRENDER YOUR LOVE series. New readers can enjoy No Exceptions without reading Surrender Your Love but those who love Surrender Your Love will find a new, expanded storyline about Brooke and Jett!

**I received an ARC for an honest review.**

I have read Brooke and Jett's story from the beginning and what a story it has been. Their story is filled with so much mystery, suspense, love, sexy time, heartache and so much more. The twists and turns in this series kept me hooked and waiting for more.

The Lover's Surrender is the final book in Jett and Brooke's story and it is a MUST read to get that closure for this couple. I love that things starting to go their way after some much needed perspective on both their parts. The first three books in this series are filled with frustration with both characters because of their secretive and stubborn ways, but this fourth book really sets things in place. I liked that they finally decided to be open and honest with each other. Brooke finally realized that she did in fact trust Jett blindly and Jett needed her trust.

This book is a little more tame compared to the rest of the series, but it really needed to be considering Brooke and her condition. I really enjoyed the added Jett POV in this final book. I love getting inside a male POV and his helped to connect with him after everything that has happened in the first three books.

If you want a great series that follows characters until the truly get their HEA, then I recommend the Surrender Your Love series as a starting point and continuing with the No Exceptions series. You won't be disappointed.

Review ... Royal Savage by Victoria Ashley

Royal Savage

I CAN’T CLOSE MY EYES… I refuse to. Every time I do, all I see is blood, death, and pain. I can feel it - almost taste it, bringing me back to that night.
It doesn't matter that I'm still breathing; I no longer need it, I no longer want it. I despise it along with everything else around me.
The only thing I long for is to fucking fade away. I've given up. Until her at least…
She comes into my world, knocking me on my ass.
It turns me on to have her around me. Makes me want to wrap my hand around her tight little throat and fuck her until she feels my pain, feels the monster in me, but also makes me want to protect her from the very thing that she should be afraid of... me.
Once she sees the damage that I’m capable of; she’ll look at me like everyone else around me does: with fear.

HIS EYES... THE DARKNESS IN them draws me to him, making me want to taste him, feel him… and save him. I shouldn't have gotten on the back of his motorcycle that day. I know that now. Colton warned me. I was told it was dangerous. I was told that nothing would be the same. He was right.
ROYAL is dangerous, dark, and seductive; the very thing that keeps me hanging on, willing to give my last breath just to touch him… breathe him in.
He’s savage, inked, and highly captivating. So different from his brother…
He's hazardous to my health, mind, and body, yet the only thing that I crave. I want to free him. I want to change his mind, but I'm afraid that he’s already too faded…

**I received an ARC for an honest review.**

Victoria Ashley has done it again with Royal Savage. She took something that is outside her "normal" realm of writing and really owned it. She kept me sucked into this storyline and on the edge of my seat. I didn't want to put this book down at all and I couldn't wait to get to the very end. I was hooked for the prologue...I mean who wouldn't was amazing and intriguing. Victoria really out did herself with this book.

So, Royal has got to be Victoria's darkest character yet and oh what an amazing one he is. Even though we mostly see him the dark monster he portrays, he is so much more. His loyal, protective, fierce, sexy and loving in his own way. When he wanted nothing more than one night with Avalon, he couldn't deny that he also wanted more after he finally had her. I liked that about him, that even though he tried to fight it he just couldn't help but want to be around her.

Avalon...she is exactly what Royal needed. She was the perfect match for a man like him. She helped to bring him back to life just by being her and refusing to give up on him. I really loved her character from the start even though she was a bit stifled by the douche-bag Colton. She eventually remembered who she was and that he was not for her, but maybe it was his brother, because you know there has to be some sibling drama in this book ;)

True to her writing style Victoria made this book very sexy, a little darker than her normal, but still oh so sexy. There was a lot going on in the storyline, but not enough to lose focus. I liked that glimpses into the past that let us connect with Royal on a savage level and brought so much understanding to who he was in the present. There are even somethings that I didn't see coming and they made me love this story so much more, because it made you see the many levels of these characters.

This book is a MUST read by Victoria Ashley.

Blog Tour Stop with Review ... Sweet Soul by Tillie Cole

Title: Sweet Soul
Series: Sweet Home #4
Author: Tillie Cole
Age group: New adult

One shy lost soul.
One silent lonely heart.
One love to save them both.

Life has never been easy for twenty-year-old Levi Carillo. The youngest of the Carillo boys, Levi is nothing like his older brothers. He isn’t dark in looks or intimidating to everyone he meets. In fact, he’s quite the opposite. Haunted by a crippling shyness and the tragic events of his past, Levi spends his days with his head buried in his books, or training hard for his college football team. Too timid to talk to girls, Levi stays as far away as possible and completely on his own… until he saves the life of a troubled pretty blonde, a troubled pretty blonde that might just be the exception to his rule.

Elsie Hall is homeless. Or at least that’s all anyone ever sees. Everyday is a fight for survival on the cold streets of Seattle, everyday a struggle to find food and keep warm. Alone in life—a life that’s dangerous and cruel—her will to keep going is an ever-losing battle. In her world of silence, Elsie has given up hope that her life will contain anything but constant struggle and pain… until the beautiful boy she has severely wronged comes to her rescue at precisely the right time.

New Adult novel—contains sexual situations and mature topics. Suited for ages 18 and up.

“Carillo. You got twenty more sprints, then you can hit the showers,” Coach shouted, as I took my place back on the field. Putting my head down, drawing myself down to focus, I got it done.
Twenty sprints later, I threw a wave to Jake and Ashton who were still hitting their sprints. I made my way inside. I always finished first. Football was my life. It was what I did best. It was the only constant I’d ever had; I could trust football, I could trust the routine.
It never let me down.
It never left.
My cleats tapped on the tile floor of the locker room as I toweled off sweat from my face. I hit the showers, and in less than five minutes under the boiling spray, with only a towel around my waist, I headed into the locker room. I entered the change area, just as a movement caught my eye, right in front of my station.
A girl. A petite, thin girl—scraggly long blond hair sticking out of a pulled up hood; dressed in dirty black jeans, chucks riddled with holes, and a scuffed black leather jacket.
I froze, startled by what the hell a girl was doing in here, in the football locker room. Then my eyes widened when I realized exactly what she was doing. Her left side was to me, her rail thin body showing me most of her back.
Her hands were in my bag.
Instinct kicked in and I stepped forward. “Hey!” I shouted. But the girl didn’t move. I shouted again, my heart beating fast. It seemed like it took her a minute to hear me. She froze, and flashing me a quick glimpse of her shocked dirty face hidden under her black hood, she pulled something to her chest and sprinted out of the locker room, then straight outside.
I stood rooted to the spot, completely shocked, until I remembered that my bag was wide open. I rushed forward and looked inside. At first I didn’t think anything had been taken, then I noticed my wallet was missing from the inside pocket. I began throwing my clothes and sports crap out onto the floor, searching the entire bag. But as I reached inside the hidden compartment, there was nothing.
She’d taken my wallet.
Standing straight, I ran my hands through my wet hair. My eyes darted around the room. I questioned how the hell she’d gotten in here? In a secure room?
I breathed out through my nose, trying like hell to calm down, when shards of ice sliced, like spears, down my spine. Every part of me stilled as a further realization kicked in. My wallet. My wallet not only contained all my cards and ID, but also the one thing that mattered the most to me—in my whole life.
The rosary.

4.5  STARS

**I received an ARC for an honest review.**

Gah!!! Levi Carrillo has to be the most swoon worthy book boyfriend EVER!!! I loved him through and through right from the beginning. I knew once his story was told that it would be great and it was. Gee...what an amazingly sweet soul he really was.

And that Elsie, talk about a perfect match for our last Carrillo brother...she was so easy to fall in love with. She didn't have an easy life either and the things that she has struggled through would be enough to tear anyone down. But somehow she kept her sweet nature even though she was broken beyond belief. It was her broken soul that was able to heal Levi though and it was his sweet soul that began to mend her broke soul. They were just so perfect for each other.

I don't want to give anything away because Elsie and Levi's story is a must read in this series.

Amazon & USA Today Best Selling Author, Tillie Cole, is a Northern girl through and through. She originates from a place called Teesside on that little but awesomely sunny (okay I exaggerate) Isle called Great Britain. She was brought up surrounded by her English rose mother -- a farmer's daughter, her crazy Scottish father, a savagely sarcastic sister and a multitude of rescue animals and horses.

Being a scary blend of Scottish and English, Tillie embraces both cultures; her English heritage through her love of HP sauce and freshly made Yorkshire Puddings, and her Scottish which is mostly demonstrated by her frighteningly foul-mouthed episodes of pure rage and her much loved dirty jokes.

Having been born and raised as a Teesside Smoggie, Tillie, at age nineteen, moved forty miles north to the 'Toon', Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, where she attended Newcastle University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts honours degree in Religious Studies. She returned two years later to complete a Post-Graduate Certificate in Teaching High School Social Studies. Tillie, regards Newcastle to be a home from home and enjoyed the Newcastle Geordie way of life for seven 'proper mint' and 'lush' years.

One summers day, after finishing reading her thousandth book on her much loved and treasured Kindle, Tillie turned to her husband and declared, "D'you know, I have a great idea for a story. I could write a book." Several months later, after repeating the same tired line at the close of another completed story, she was scolded by her husband to shut up talking about writing a novel and "just bloody do it!" For the first time in eleven years, Tillie actually took his advice (he is still trying to get over the shock) and immediately set off on a crazy journey, delving deep into her fertile imagination.

Tillie, ever since, has written from the heart. She combines her passion for anything camp and glittery with her love of humour and dark brooding men (most often muscled and tattooed – they’re her weakness!). She also has a serious side (believe it or not!) and loves to immerse herself in the complex study of World Religions, History and Cultural Studies and creates fantasy stories that enable her to thread serious issues and topics into her writing -- yep, there's more to this girl than profanity and sparkles!

After six years of teaching high school Social Studies and following her Professional Rugby Player husband around Europe, they have finally given up their nomadic way of life and settled in Calgary, Alberta where Tillie spends most of her days (and many a late night) lost in a writing euphoria or pursuing a dazzling career as a barrel-racing, tasselled-chap wearing, Stetson-sporting cowgirl... Ye-haw!

Opportunities float through your sphere, and it’s up to you to seize them. Sometimes they stream back around, giving you another chance if you miss out, but that once-in-a-lifetime chance, you’ll never see again.

Troll calls me while Nadia is still asleep. I don’t release her from my arms when I grab the phone from the nightstand and answer.

“Bo. Radio One needs a fill-in. Tom Rocks was supposed to head up Luminessence on the night show, but they backed out last minute, and Luminessence’s artist manager called yours. Clown Irruption is in.”

Adrenaline rushes through my body. “Are you kidding me? Radio One?”

“Hell yeah, man. Radio Fucking One.”

I start laughing. My stomach rocks, stirring Nadia from her sleep. She uh-huhms? And I pull her close, kissing her temple way loudly for someone who’s still in dreamland.

“Better make it, son,” Troll grumbles, grouchy-sounding as usual.

“Of course, Captain. We’ll be there. Are you emailing us directions and times?” It’s a redundant question. He’s always on top of the details, and he’s snippy as hell about being second-guessed.

“Yeah, unless you’ve got Internet,” he counters. “Ooh, it’s so hard to locate Radio One in L.A.”

I bite my lip, suppressing my amusement. “What time?”

“Dude, I am going to email you, okay? God forbid you girls get lost.”

“Thank you, Troll. I appreciate it,” I say, and he muffle-growls something indistinguishable before hanging up.

The girl in my bed looks up, big, beautiful eyes bright with anticipation for me. “You’re excited. What’s going on?”

She smiles when I tell her. Rolls slowly over my body and on top of me the way she lied last night, nudges her nose against my throat like a sleepy kitten. I get to see this other Nadia before she veils herself in sadness again. This early morning version of her is addictive.

I kiss her before she rethinks shit. Slide my fingers in between her butt cheeks and caress her rosebud. Then, I move down, finding a warmth I already crave, slickness from yesterday, and I whisper my plea in her ear.

Still sleepy, she relents, her body awake enough to tremble through a climax with me, but as her mind clears fully, I watch her retract again, her eyes dimming as she gets dressed. Nadia sits through breakfast with us, that small wrinkle between her brows reappearing.

When she stands, getting ready to leave, I don’t give a damn that I look pathetic when I say, “Hey,” catch her hand in passing, and entwine our fingers. I don’t get up from my seat, but I pull her close enough to latch around her waist. “Can you make it to the show? I’d like to have you there.”

“I want to go so bad!” Zoe sings. “Emil invited me, right you did, Cupcake? Nadia, we’ll talk to Scott—figure something out. This is the awesomest reason ever to bail in the middle of our shifts.”

Nadia tenses in my hold. She doesn’t withdraw, but it’s clear that she wants to. Instinctively, I kiss her stomach the way I used to back when I had a girlfriend. Our small kitchen goes dead silent at my move, and it dawns on me how intimate that was. Much more intimate than casual sex.

“Tell me you’ll try,” I say. My voice is raspy. “We’ll kick ass if you come.”

**I received an ARC for an honest review.**

Talk about another emotional roller coaster. This book will really gut you and it really induces the ugly cry, but it also warms your hear with the love that these two lost, broken souls have for each other.

I lov that both Raelyn and Damien are so connected that they can feel each other always. Their connection is so powerful and strong that you know their love is real. I can't tell how many time I got choked up reading this book and wondering what Raelyn was going to choose...quality over quantity. In the end she chose the only thing that matters, love.

Raelyn is fighter and I have no doubt that her decision will not be made in vain. Although I am sure there will be some bumps in the road for them coming up, but I think that their love and devotion to each other will help them overcome those obstacles.

I look forward to more of this series. I want to know how things progress with Damien and Raelyn. I want to know how all the other outside things wind down and are handled. I will be waiting for the continuation of their story.

It was supposed to be nothing more than a fantasy.

All right, so I’ll admit that maybe steamy, impulsive sex isn’t the ideal way to cope with a total stranger wandering into your beach house unannounced. But discovering that my anonymous lover is none other than Shane-the-Pain Becker, the dirtbag spawned only to torment me throughout adolescence...well, somebody kill me now.

To add insult to injury, there’s a major hurricane bearing down on us and we’re stuck together for the duration. I don’t know which force of nature scares me the most – Hurricane Elliott or Shane.

Never in my wildest dreams would I have envisioned a scenario where Melanie Lane would be wrapping her sweet legs around me. Scratch that – there were, in fact, an abundance of wild dreams where Felony Melanie was concerned. I just never thought I had a chance in hell of making them reality. I mean, the girl thinks I’m sewer scum and always has.

Even now. She still believes I’m not good enough for her. I’m assuming that’s why she seems bound and determined to shut me out.

She keeps insisting this is just sex.

But as long as the hurricane keeps her trapped in my arms, I will make it my mission to convince her otherwise.

Forcing my attention back to the manuscript, I am just drafting one of the pivotal scenes in the story when Shane comes strolling in. Guess it was stupid of me to expect any privacy. He stands quietly behind me and I can sense that he’s reading what I’ve typed so far, but I am determined not to pay him any attention.

That is, until I hear him snort a laugh.

Irritated, I turn my head to glare at him. “Something funny?”

“Come on, Felony. You can do better than that.”

“I thought we agreed to retire that name. And what are you talking about?”

He points to the screen. “Is this supposed to be realistic? I could drown in the bottomless depths of your eyes…give me a break. What guy has said that to you, ever?”

I narrow my eyes. Am I really supposed to accept literary criticism from him? The guy who once put a stink bomb vial in my backpack?

“It isn’t believable,” he explains, leaning across the desk on his arms. His face is unnervingly close to mine.

“What makes you say that?”

“Let’s look at this logically. Judging from what I’ve read, it appears your two characters are in the throes of passion. Sex is already imminent. They’re about to get hot and heavy. Am I correct so far?”

“All right. Well, first of all, at this point the guy would no longer be thinking rationally and intellectually. By now he’s already deferred complete authority to his other head, if you get my drift. The last thing he’s going to be doing is reciting poetry. It would be like trying to solve calculus equations while masturbating.”

I blink, surprised. Holy cow, did he just use the word masturbate?

“Second of all, men are very forward and direct to begin with. Trust me, we are not the complex creatures you think we are. If you come across one who’s spouting off verbosity like that, you should probably run the other way.”

“Verbosity?” I can’t help but smile. There’s another word I never would have pictured the Pain using.

“You’re trying too hard with this. Cut out the ostentatious prose. Keep it simple.”

“But simple is boring,” I argue.

“Is it?” Running an index finger along his bottom lip thoughtfully, he says in a low, impassive voice, “Melanie, I’d love nothing more than to bury my cock in your sweet little pussy right now.”

Fuck me sideways, did he actually just say that to me? I’m not sure but I think lightning may have struck my panties. The electric current flowing down to the most intimate part of me is almost painful. My startled heart flutters wildly before picking up the beat in double-time. I stare into his smoky eyes, completely and utterly speechless.

“Tell me. What sort of reaction did those words elicit from you?”

“Uh…” Oh my God, I’ve forgotten how to words. I mean talk! Gah!

“That’s what I thought.” The faintest hint of a smile tugs at the corners of his mouth. “See? Simplicity.”

Struggling to regain my composure, I turn my attention back to the monitor in front of me. “So that’s what he should say? I don’t know. It seems so…base.”

“Sex is base. If you try to make it anything other than that, it won’t sound natural.”

I contemplate this. While what he says may be true, I’m not sure it fits here. I’m not writing erotica, after all. It’s just a love scene in a romantic suspense novel. “I think something like that might be a bit too graphic.”

“You can always go a shade more subtle with it. Take the crudeness down a notch.”

He’s still watching me intently and I resist the urge to squirm in my seat. This is quite a riveting conversation. I should let well enough alone, but of course I don’t. I’m rather enjoying this. “What do you suggest?”

“Hmm...” The errant finger trails languidly across his bottom lip again and my eyes follow it in fascination. “He would probably start by telling her what he wants to do to her.”

“And what does he want to do to her?”

“It’s your story, Miss Lane. What do you suppose he wants to do to her?”

“That’s a very good question.” I watch the movement of his finger hypnotically. “The problem is, I’m not sure.”

“I would imagine that the first thing he wants to do is strip her down to nothing. He wants to hold that beautiful body close to his. Feel her soft breasts against his skin. Let her touch him, so she knows the extent of his arousal.”

Dear Lord, it’s getting hot in here. “And then?”

“This is only speculation, you understand. But I would also imagine that he is aching to spread her thighs and slide his fingers inside, to find out if she’s as wet and ready as he believes her to be. Now we get the female character’s point of view. Is she wet, Melanie? Is she ready to be taken?”

“I imagine she must be,” I rasp. “Yes.”

“But this action distracts him from his ultimate goal, of course.”

My face might be flushed, but my hands feel ice cold when I clench them in my lap. “How so?”

“Now he knows he has to taste her.” The dark eyes become cloudy as he slides across the desk, so close I can feel his breath on my cheek. “He can’t prevent himself from teasing her with his tongue. Just enough to bring her close to the brink, so he can feel her thighs clenching and quivering against his shoulders. He needs for her to lose control. To forget every name in the world but his. He wants to hear her pleading for him to take her, fuck her, hard and fast and now. Now.” That last word is whispered.

I wet my lips nervously. “And does he?”

“Oh, yes.” His smile is slow and deliberate. “He most certainly does.”

About the Author

Author Profile

I was born in a charming but microscopic town in Alabama with a book in each hand. Well, maybe not literally, but you get the idea. I don't think there's an author out there who didn't start out as an avid reader, and I'm no exception.

It was only fairly recently that I decided to resurrect an old high school interest and once again began writing. There's something cathartic about breathing life into the quirky characters struggling to escape my imagination.

These days I reside in the beautiful panhandle of Florida with my own blue-eyed Prince Charming and three fat, pampered cats who are just tolerant enough to permit us to share the same house with them. As long as they're fed on time, that is.

Release Blitz ... Touch by BJ Harvey

TOUCH - banner1

Title: TOUCH, Sovereign Part One
Author: B.J. Harvey
Publication Date: December 16, 2015
Genre: Romance Serial

It started on a plane, a first class connection that spilled over into a lustful date on a rooftop.

She's very open, he's intriguingly mysterious with wicked intentions, all of which she wants directed her way.

Can she trust that feeling of heady lust that leaves her aching for his touch, or is there more to it when it comes to Barrett "Bullseye" Matthews.

Touch is part one of a new three part romance serial from USA Today Bestselling Author B.J. Harvey.

Taste (part two) is due for release January 2016 with the conclusion, Feel (part three) being released Late January/Early February 2016.

Thank heavens for free drinks in the first class seats my mom's new man had booked for me. And since I took my seat thirty minutes ago, I’d already downed a glass of champagne, adding to the two glasses of white wine I’d had in the airport bar while I was waiting to board. It was fair to say I was well on my way to tipsy, or at least careless enough to return the desire-filled gaze directed at me by the sexy guy who walked past on his way to his seat.

He was a very sexy, very fine specimen of a man with black slacks that stuck to his ass like Saran Wrap. His hair was as dark as the charcoal gray button down he wore, the fabric taut against his toned biceps. The shirt clung to his chest, covering pecs that any hot blooded woman would want to lick her way down on her way to the promised land between his thighs.

Just from the way he carried himself you could tell he was the type of man to take what he wanted without apology. Precisely the type of man I craved in my drunken state. A man to use and abuse my body and then kiss goodbye without consequence.

I knew he'd caught me staring by the knowing smirk gracing his lips. I’d never been a woman to hide my approval of such a fine specimen or to be embarrassed by doing it, but with the alcohol coursing through my veins, my confidence was buoyed. I continued to ogle him with lustful appreciation when his back was to me. When he reached his seat two rows ahead of me, he turned his head and smiled, a perfect white-toothed grin that I felt touch me somewhere deep inside.

Gone were the free drinks in my future—my target for entertainment was firmly shifted to the man with the cocky smile. Once the plane was in the air, I wanted to find out exactly what this man was about, preferably via in-flight entertainment of the naked kind.
