5 out of 5 ✰'s for Sand & Clay by Sarah Robinson

Sand and Clay: Her Forbidden Rockstar (Sand & Clay, #1)Sand and Clay: Her Forbidden Rockstar by Sarah Robinson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Once I started this book I just could not put it down!

I was immediately sucked in by Caroline. I really liked her character. She comes from a affluent family and is feeling pressure from her father to follow in his footsteps and be something that she doesn't want to be. She works a job as a paralegal while she keeps putting off taking the BAR exam. When we first meet her she following her everyday routine and is heading to work but first she stops at her favorite coffee shop and this is where her story really starts. This is where she meets Logan Clay...THE Logan Clay. She is not impressed with his arrogance, but she is torn because she finds him very very attractive. I mean who wouldn't right...Sexy Rockstar Logan Clay!! After some not so polite conversation Logan leaves the coffee shop, but leaves a surprise for Caroline. This is where things really start in their relationship.

This story isn't your typical rocker romance where the rockstar sees a girl that captures his attention and then they live HEA. This story is about two people who are so attracted to each other that they can not stop thinking about each other and feel such a connection that it is hard to stay away. But there are obstacles in their way in the form of Logan's girlfriend Gina Vile who is also his manager. In Logan's Story you get the main reason that they still together and the reason that Gina is always throwing what she did for his family in his face. There is a HUGE difference in the Gina from Logan's Story and the Gina in Sand & Clay. The Gina in this book actually ives up to her name of Gina Vile. In this book I just HATED her for the way she has let Logan's fame and her job come between them. So, even though Logan feels so strongly for Caroline he just can't leave Gina to be with her. When he finally is able to move past his circumstances it might just be too late.

This is the next obstacle...After feeling so broken from Logan's choice Caroline sets out to forget him and live the life with a partner that her parents would approve of and with someone who can't hurt her. Her friends talk her into going out and she is more that happy after weeks of crying. This is where she meets comfortable and nice Turner. They really hit it off and their relationship grows from there. I really liked their relationship, but it just lacked the overwhelming connection that Logan and Caroline shared. This is where Logan comes back and wants to be with Caroline only she is torn between her feelings for him and her relationship with Turner.

I really liked that this book is different from most and the actions of the two main characters are very believable. The situations and how they handle them are akin to real life and what other people might do.

I won't giveaway the ending, you will just have to read what happens yourself. I will tell you that you will not regret reading this or Logan's story.
