New Release & Review ... Black Rainbow by JJ McAvoy

Black Rainbow

Release Day: May 15, 2015

A sweet and steamy New Adult Romance from author of the bestselling Ruthless People series, J.J. McAvoy…

After an erotic one-week fling with a musician she meets in a bar, Thea Cunning never expects to see Levi Black again. Then Monday morning comes around, and she discovers that her former lover is not only her professor, but he’s also one of the top criminal lawyers in the state of Massachusetts.

With everyone in class vying to be one of the twelve disciples—a group of twelve students that Professor Black takes under his wing—tensions run high. Thea considers dropping his class, given their passionate week together and their undeniable chemistry. After all, there are other (less infuriatingly sexy) law professors on campus.

But to accomplish her goal and get her father out of prison, Thea knows she needs to learn under the best of the best—and that’s Levi Black.

But can she learn under the best, without being under the best?

**I received an ARC via NetGalley for an honest review.**

This books was so engaging from the start right until the very last word. I loved loved loved everything about this book. There was so much that made this book the perfect "forbidden"romance of sorts. I liked the whole teacher student thing, but what I loved the most is the shock from both Levi and Thea when they realized that there "week long stand" is not over at all.

I love Thea. Talk about independent, strong and smart black woman. I loved her...a lot. I liked that the was goal oriented. I liked that even though she had every right to let her mother die alone, she didn't. She was the bigger person. What she found out from her mothers confession had to have been shocking and life shattering, but Thea took that information and set her life on a course she never thought she would all in the attempts to free her father.

Levi...Professor Black...YUM! I loved him. I loved his POV and pretty much everything about him. I liked him in the past, present and I LOVED him in the future. I liked him as a lover, a professor and as a lawyer. I really enjoyed him as a brother and friend. It was easy to connect with him and to root for him when Thea was running from him.

The relationship between Thea and Levi was so awesome. I loved that somehow all characters seemed to be connected full circle in this book. I loved that Levi and his best friend Tristan were so close and they both knew that they had to help Thea. I especially enjoyed how Tristan helped in the end. This is the first book that I have read by J.J. McAvoy and I LOVED it!
