Well, let me just start this off by saying that this is my first Maya Banks read and I am so in love with her writing and ability to write one amazing story. Safe at Last is beautifully written and will leave you captivated by its words and the story they tell. This book is so much more than romantic suspense, it has heartbreak, heartache, betrayal, action, forgiveness and undying and beautiful love.

 I fell in love with Zack right from the start. I loved his honesty with himself and with others. He is what you always want in an alpha male hero. All of his qualities shine through and that is what inevitably brings his life back to him. Gracie, Anna-Grace...that poor girl went through so much and the twelve years that her and Zack were apart were torched on both of them for very different reasons. Zack believed that she just up and left him long ago without trace. He looked for her and refused to give up, he needed answers to why Gracie would just leave him without a "goodbye". Gracie left because she believed that Zack committed the ultimate betrayal against her. 

This book will keep you sucked into the pages and needing/wanting more. I was dying to know Gracie's whole story and what events lead to the couples separation for twelve years without so much as a letter or "see ya later". I could not believe what actually had happened and I felt so much pain for both Gracie and Zack. I felt for the sixteen year old Gracie who went through such a traumatic event that she believed the love of her life was responsible for orchestrating. I felt for Zack for being sucker punched by what Gracie thought him capable of. I also felt for Zack because when he finds out not only what Gracie had been through and that she thinks he is responsible, but he finds out that it was people close to him that ruined his future. 

Gosh! This was such an amazing read. I LOVE it and now I am will definitely be reading more of Maya Banks' books. This book is defiantly a MUST read if you love romantic suspense with so much more.
