Release Blitz & Series Review .... Just One Lie by Kyra Davis

Just One Lie
Just One Lies, Book 2
by Kyra Davis

In the instant international sensation Just One Night, sensible Kasie Fitzgerald unleashed her passions—and found herself—through an explosive affair. In Just One Lie, we meet Kasie’s wild and tortured sister, whose impulsivity and lack of self-control has set off a chain of events that changes her family forever.

Melody Fitzgerald is the opposite of the “perfect” daughter. The lead singer of an indie rock band, she is impulsive and creative, with a rebellious streak that both defines her and becomes her greatest enemy. Her lover, the enticing and unpredictable Ash, shares her free spirit and penchant for trouble. On the face of it, he seems to be her perfect match.

So why is she so drawn to her soft spoken, reliable drummer, Brad Witmer? How can a man who wears polo shirts and reads the financial section of the paper be of any interest to her at all? And why on earth does someone like that appear to be so captivated by her?

Before she knows it, Melody finds herself on a path of self-discovery, passion, and affairs of the heart. But will a dark secret from her past derail it all? Or will its exposure be the very thing that unburdens her heart and allows her to seek a future with the one man who loves her completely?

**I received an ARC for an honest review.**

I loved this book so much more than the first two. I guess I just connected so much better with Mercy than I did with Kasie. I connected with the lost and confused Mercy who wanted nothing more than to let go of the past and live in the present. I connected with her need to feel loved and accepted even though she was looking for it in the wrong place. I connected with the woman trying to find the things that make her happy without worrying about who those things disappointed.

For a bit I was disappointed in the choices she was making. I hated that she was letting someone make her feel less that she actually was. I hated that she was putting someone who truly seemed to care for her aside for someone who was probably just as, if not more, messed up that she is. I really hated that person in her life. I think that person took from her when the other person gave her more enlightenment into who she could be. The other person showed her more than just the destructive paths of life. That other person showed her that she should make a change in her life, but for herself, even though he didn't really know that is what he showed her.

I loved that there was never a part of this book that was easy. Mercy's life was never just easy. Every part of her life was something she had to work for. She had to go through all of the pain, sadness and heartache to be able to enjoy the warm, happy and loving sides of life. The woman she became by the end of this book is nothing short of amazing and she definitely deserved the life she had by the end of this book. It wasn't a life that was handed to her without struggle. It was a life that she earned through all of the pain and heartache of her past. I really admired who Mercy became and is all started with Just One Lie ;)

Just One Night, Book 1

In this New York Times bestselling erotic enovella trilogy, a buttoned-up businesswoman takes her friend’s advice and has a fling with a stranger on a trip to Vegas—only to find herself under his mysterious, sexy power both in the boardroom and the bedroom.

Kasie Fitzgerald knows who she’s supposed to be. She’s a rising-star-workaholic at a global consulting firm. She’s the fiancĂ©e of a well-connected man who’s won the approval of her parents. People know that she’s reliable, serious, proper, cautious, pragmatic, and yes, a little predictable. She’s who Dave and her family want her to be.

But as her thirtieth birthday looms, buried feelings begin to resurrect. Her friend takes her to Vegas for one last wild and crazy night. In a dress much shorter and sexier than anything she has ever dared to wear before, she hits the blackjack tables. And meets him. Under the tailored clothes it’s clear that this is a man who is intense, powerful, and maybe even a little dangerous. With a touch of trepidation she accepts his invitation to get a drink, and before long, she’s in his hotel room.

She never gets his full name. Perhaps his anonymity is one of the reasons she’s able to give herself over to him and to the moment so completely. Perhaps it’s why she’s just had the most exquisite and passionate sex of her life. Shaken by her own behavior, Kasie tries to chalk it up to one crazy night. But when the mysterious gentleman she’s just had a fling with shows up in her office—as the CEO of a firm her company does a billion dollars of business with a year, demanding that she handle his account, and so much more—things will never be the same again. And there’s no telling where this will go…

Just One Night is the first book in the Just One Night series. It has three parts, The Stranger, Exposed and Binging Agreement. Each part follows Kasie Fitzgerald during a very defining moment in her life. She decides that she doesn't want to be the easily controlled, quiet, pleasing and shy woman that she has been most of her life. She want's to be different she wants more power and he does not want to be the same woman she has been.

It all starts with the one night stand, or so she thought. She meets the handsome Mr. Dade while in Vegas, while stepping out of her comfort zone. She has a mission flirt with a stranger but things get much more steamy, much faster than she thought they would. She leaves Vegas thinking that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but she was oh so wrong.

That night in Vegas set the pace for all of the things that would happen in Kasie's personal and professional life over the course of this book. She hurts people that love her, she hurts people that work with her, but none of them are innocent either. Dave her fiancĂ© turns out to be an asshole that I loathe, especially after his enlightening confession. Tom Love her boss is an opportunistic ass that deserved what he got. But even through all of that I hated the person that Kasie became when she let the power got to her. I hated that she felt superior to those who she worked with, but she did redeem herself in my eyes. I like that she walked away and found a happy medium despite the things that she could have had. I like that she realized that she didn't like the person she became. I also like that the ever sexy Mr. Dade was not unscathed in all of this either.

At times I did feel that there was not enough character development and at times I thought that the storyline was a bit much with all the added drama, but in the end it all worked out.

I am on to read Just One More to get a glimpse into the ever so sexy Mr. Dade's head.

**I received an ARC for an honest review.**

This was such a great look into the ever so sexy Mr. Dade's head. This made him more appealing to me. It made me connect with him more and it made him more human to me. This little glimpse into his head helped to understand his characters so much more and to me helped me like both Kasie and Robert all the more.

I like that it showed a bit of a softer side of Mr. Dade, but still keeping his domineering traits in tact. I like that even though it showed a bit of his insecurities and handled them a bit poorly, he still was able to recognize them as well as Kasie. I like that their line of communication was bit more open and that they could talk through and work their problems out.

Now, the bomb dropped at the end was a bit of a jaw dropper, one that obviously most everyone knows is coming since book three is on the horizon. I am curious what this means for Kasie's life and how it will effect her. I am excited about what is to come.
