Blog Tour Stop & Review ... Ricochet by Keri Lake

Title: Ricochet
Author: Keri Lake
Genre: Dark Romance
Release Date: July 9, 2015

The only sure way to destroy a man is to take what he cannot live without.

Three years ago, I had everything.

A beautiful wife.

A son.

A reason for living.

Until a ruthless task force, assembled under Mayor Michael Culling, with a brutal strategy to make the streets of Detroit ‘safe’, ripped away everything I loved in a deadly hunt called The Culling.

They tried to kill me, too. I wish they had. Now I'm cursed by the memories of that night, and the words I whispered to my dying wife.

A promise—to avenge the wrong and set it right.

I’m no longer Nick Ryder. I’m a masked vigilante. Faceless. Loveless. Fearless. A man with nothing left to lose—one who's seen the dark and violent truth behind the city’s flawless veneer.

Michael Culling doesn’t know who I am. Or what I want. All he knows is that I’ve kidnapped his beautiful wife.

An eye for an eye—isn’t that how the saying goes? And Aubree Culling is the perfect pawn to destroy him.

If she doesn’t destroy me first.

**I received an ARC for an honest review.**

This book blew me away with the twists in the plot and the overall outcome. When things started coming to light and everything started sliding into place it made Nick's need for revenge that much sweeter.

Right from the start something was swirling in my head and I kept trying to get my sister to tell me if I was right, but I am so glad that she didn't give it away. I loved every word, paragraph and page of this book. Nick Ryder is every woman's hero, although not in the traditional sense not by a landslide. Nick suffered a terrible tragedy and so did his family. A tragedy that he watched with his own eyes and vowed that he would get revenge for what was done to his family. The things he saw were enough to splinter anyone and the way he went about his retribution was dark, depraved and oh so bad ass. The thing that Nick did in the name of revenge is not butterflies, flowers and unicorns. This is not a light and airy romance. It is so messed up, but so fulfilling.

Aubree Culling she found herself trapped and kidnapped not once, but twice in her life. She is so broken, but she is still so strong. The things that she has had to survive and live through are so much worse that I would have thought, but are what I suspected right off the bat. I love that she found herself with Nick and that the two of them seemed to have found themselves in each other. I liked the honesty that they shared with each other after they started to cut through the bullspit.

I don't want to give anything away and this is already turning to a point of being a bit spoilerish... I will just say that this book is so much more than I thought it was going to be. I knew it would be dark and gritty, but it was dark and gritty in an amazing way. The things done in this book will make you cringe, but also make you cheer with they are avenged. This is one of those books that you can't put down because you can't wait to find out how everything will play out. Somethings I saw coming and somethings were a surprise, but I loved everything in this book.

This book is a MUST read.
