**I received an ARC for an honest review.**
Another great addition to this series. I absolutely fell in love with Jake right off the bat. Talk about swoon.
I knew Lana as Tate's sister in book 2 of the Try Again series and I was very curious to know her story. I knew that it had to be something pretty dark considering to small tidbits we got in Whatever You Do. Even though Lana has had a not so pleasant past she doesn't let it affect her in her life "after". That is what I loved most about her. That even though she is going through a pretty tough time, with getting over her past and then to be carried from her home in the middle of the night by a complete stranger because your home has just gone up in flames, she is still really well adjusted. Well, minus her fear of everyone eventually being taken from her.
Jake...oh that Jake. I loved him from he beginning. I loved being inside his head and getting every single one of his thoughts, they were some really good thoughts. I loved his open, loyal and honest, well mostly honest, character. Even though he was hiding a secret from Lana, it didn't make me like him any less because of the part of his character that he was holding in tact. I really liked that about him. Also I loved that he was such a wonderful father. Being a single parent has to be hard on anyone, but Jake handles it so well. I loved that the most about his character. I also loved that he was just the sweetest man ever.
So, by now you have figured out that Jake has a child, a daughter, Hallie. She is one of the best parts of this book. She is so sweet, well adjusted and funny as hell. I loved all of the "Hallie Tales". She was definitely a nice addition to this story. Her straight forward nature added much needed comedic relief at all the right times. I laughed out loud many times during this read.
If you haven't read any of the Try Again series you should definitely pick up some one, two or all of these books. They are emotional, sweet, loving and pretty dang sexy too. All can be read as stand alone, but the characters are all friends so it is nice to keep getting little pieces of the other couples after their books have ended.
This is a MUST read series in my opinion.
