Review ... The First Taste by Jessica Hawkins

The First Taste
by Jessica Hawkins

A sexy new standalone romance from the author who brought you Amazon bestseller Slip of the Tongue.

Andrew Beckwith has already devoted his life to one girl--and as far as he's concerned, she's all he needs. The rough-around-the-edges bad boy left his reckless ways behind six years ago when his daughter Bell was born. When Bell's mother walked out on them years ago, he vowed never to let another woman close enough to hurt them again.

Amelia Van Ecken isn't just another woman. She's an independent, smart, and savvy businesswoman who doesn't have time for sex, much less love. In the midst of a drawn-out, bitter divorce, all she wants is to bury herself in work. But when sharp-tongued Amelia and stubborn Andrew cross paths, sparks fly--and burn. Two things are obvious in an instant: they want each other, and they're from different worlds. It's the perfect formula for an off-the-charts one-night stand. After all, it's not as if opposites ever attract.

The First Taste is a standalone spin-off of Slip of the Tongue told in dual POV.

5 STARS

This is my first taste of anything written by this author and I absolutely LOVED her writing style. The First Taste is well written, a tad emotional and sexy as hell. I love a good single parent love story, but Andrew Beckwith is now my favorite single dad.

What was great about these character and their story was the honesty that they had in there relationship from the beginning. When things started to progress and move in a different direction, neither one of them hid it from the other. One of my most favorite parts was when Amelia (Mila) and Bell started to bond. They're relationship progressed slowly, but you could feel the change in Amelia when she was around Bell.

Both characters have a relationship from the past haunting them and making their lives a little more difficult. With the reappearances of their exes it really put things into perspective for Andrew and Amelia. They were both able to realize that they could move on with the right person.

OH MY! The hot sexy parts were OH SO HOT and OH SO SEXY! This might be some of the sexiest reads that I have read this year. Andrew really know how to handle Amelia, he knew all the right ways to open her up and to make her a wanton woman. This book made me really want to have bigger tub and take a bath, it also made me miss smoking and want to try whiskey ;)
