Blurb:
Alivia Monaghan had it all: a successful business, happy children, and her husband Jax Monaghan, the love of her life. Until the day Jax made a choice that altered their lives and crushed Alivia harder than a quarterback sack.

Football hero Jax Monaghan hadn’t had it easy in life. Despite his thriving football career he always destroyed everything beautiful he’s ever had. That was until he met his wife, Alivia, who had taught him what love and family was all about. But when he watches his wife fall apart due to his decisions, he’s reminded just what he is capable of – and he makes what he thinks is the ultimate sacrifice. Walking away.

When Jax returns home in order to be closer to his children, he can’t help but want to be closer with Alivia again as well. But the brutal reality of his choices keep knocking him back to the starting line. As the past threatens them further apart, Jax and Alivia are forced to line up together and play for the same team. Had their entire marriage been a trick play? Or was it simply just a false start into their happily ever after?

4 STARS

**I received an ARC for an honest review.**

First I love this cover ;)

Second this is a wonder debut novel for this author and I look forward to more from her and this series.

I was a bit hesitant going into reading this because from the blurb I thought it would have one of my hard limits, but I was so happy that I fell in love with Jax and Liv.

I love that this book starts off with a brief history of from both Jax and Liv. I like that it didn't just throw you into the throng of what was troubling them and left you waiting to connect with either character. From the first few chapters the connection is already established and so when things pick up in the middle of their troubles you just can't wait to find out what happened.

I couldn't wait to find out why Jax did what he did. I love that the author didn't rush the reconciliation and that she kept the characters in their pain, but at the same time was building up the tension. That tension was another thing I couldn't wait to see break. I knew once it did it would be so hot and so satisfying...and it sure was.

By the end of this book I had been through a few emotions. I don't want to give anything away, but I will say that I really enjoyed this book and all of the characters. So much so that I look forward to then next tale in the Mavericks Series. I am really hoping that the littler foreshadowing at the end of this book goes exactly like I want it to go.

If you like those sweet and sexy sports romance books, then this book if for you. It has what makes those books enjoyable to read.

About the Author:
Julianna Marley is fairly certain that she was born on the wrong side of the Mason-Dixon line. She’s in constant search of warmth, sunshine and water. When not writing about all the places she yearns to be, she can be found enjoying obnoxious amounts of coffee and getting bossed around by a four year-old. Julianna loves romance, humor and football.
