Title: Monster Stepbrother

Synopsis

His dark obsession runs deep.

How does a girl go from being her Daddy’s precious baby doll to feeling like a
filthy whore?

Easy really. When my father remarries it changes the course of my life and

everything becomes . . . complicated.

My new stepbrother is a monster who hates me. Unapologetic, controlling and
brazen he’s intent on making my life a living hell. Defaultmails me into doing

things I never thought I’d do. Illicit things.

Oliver King makes the rules. He f*cks me whenever he wants. How he wants. Where
he wants.

My head screams this is wrong, yet I can't resist giving in to forbidden
desires.

I’m his possession, his toy — his ultimate pleasure.

He’s never letting me go. I’m his dark obsession.

My dirty addiction to my stepbrother grows to a dangerous level. Am I sick to
crave more from the man who has made me his slut? Or should I escape and run as

far away as possible?

My name is Maya Childs and this is my story.

Dark erotic novel that contains sensitive subject matter that may make readers

uncomfortable. Not appropriate for readers under 18. Contains explicit language
and descriptions of sexual situations and violence.

3.5 STARS

***A BIT SPOILER-ish***

**I received and ARC for an honest review.**

I read the synopsis of this book while doing the cover reveal and it looked so enticing that I just had to fit it into my schedule. I hate when I don't make a connection to a book and have to give it anything less that 4 stars but this book just had too many things that didn't do it for me.

The premise was interesting and who doesn't like a good taboo read. There were just so many conflicting emotions and thoughts from both main characters and even the secondary characters. It seemed to me that there was no real timeline with the story as it progressed. Don't get me wrong there were flashbacks and flash forwards but the timelines during those chapters were all off to me. It was distracting to me and there were a lot of inconsistencies with the storyline, it was hard for me to ignore. I loved when Oliver and Maya would get together or try to seduce one another, but all the inner dialogue with there conflicting thoughts was a bit much and at times I just had to put the book down and start again.  A lot of stuff was explained by the end of the book but it just felt incomplete to me or at the very least a little too late. Larissa, Oliver's mother, was one of the things that felt off to me. Her character was such a bitch throughout the entire book and her moment to shine just didn't like enough to me.

Also, I hated Oliver's manwhoring ways...I know that he was trying to stay away from Maya, but it all seemed excessive and the whole relationship with Bianca just didn't do it for me. I just think both characters were a little too immature and so were their actions pretty much the entire book. There were also other things that went on in this book with the whole self harming thing and the blackmail thing that was a little too much for this story. I know that it was to show how much of a monster Oliver really was, but I just didn't really see it coming or I guess I didn't really understand why Maya would be that way after only a few bad interaction with Oliver. There was just a lot left out for me to make that connection with the characters.

Okay now that I have gotten all the negative out of the way, let me get to the positive. I really enjoyed the ending of this book. I like the epilogue and the fact that both characters finally found peace in there lives was a great ending. I really enjoyed the seduction scenes that happened pretty much anytime Oliver and Maya were around each other. There sexual tension and chemistry was off the charts and very pleasurable to read.

This book just didn't do it for me completely, but that doesn't mean that it isn't for you. If it intrigues you then reading it would be my recommendation because all readers are different and might now take issue with the things that seemed off to me.
