Two Boys...
My husband and I are blessed with two amazing young men. They are 9 and 11 right now, and both are on very different parts of the autism spectrum. I’ve learned so much by being their mom and feel pretty lucky to have become a part of a community of loving, understanding people.
If you’d like to meet my oldest son, just watch Big Bang Theory and shake hands with Sheldon. Those two are so similar, straight down to the fake laugh when they recognize something is funny.
My youngest cannot be explained. He’s more of an experience, and a joyful one at that.
Romance Novelist...
I’ve always loved to write. I’ve written for newspapers and magazines, also a host of personal projects. Then in December of 2012 I was reading on my first Kindle, gobbling up romances left and right. That’s when I fell in love with Ethan Blackstone, by the way.
Anyway, I was inspired to sit down and write. Less than one year later I’ve published three books, written another and its sequel novella, and started on two more. As of November of 2013, I’m more than 60k words into those two total. Since I’m sure I won’t update this bio for a long time, you’ll have to rely on my Facebook updates to know what’s going on with Kemmie Michaels romances. There are stalker links on my home page.
Coffee Addict...
Self-explanatory.

 Excerpt:

By the time you read this, I’ll be dead. I hope I had the chance to tell you this myself, but in the event that I couldn’t, I want you to know that from the moment we met, I loved you. So, so, so much. And these past few months dealing with the reality of my mortality have allowed me to reach into the depths of that love and see that what is sweet on one hand, is devastatingly sad on the other: You loved me with the depth and truth that most people never know. And because of that (here’s the devastating part), I know you won’t let go, even once I’m gone. It’s sweet to know that I owned your heart, body and soul for all of these years, but it crushes me that you will bury these things with my body and not only deprive yourself of life, of enjoying and sharing it with someone else but from love altogether… and that is the tragedy here. You deserve to live, breathe, taste, and love again. Elliot, that is what Love is, and that is what I want for you once I'm gone.

✯✯✯✯

* I was given the first two books in this series for an honest review from the author *
** Spoilerish **

The main thing that needs addressing is that these books are more of a serial than they are novels. They are fast paced and pretty easy to follow, although at times the transitions can be a little fast or appear to hop around a bit. This is a very sweet & sexy series and not your typical teenage YA book it is more of the NA variety.

I really enjoyed this book. The character are well written event the secondary ones had some depth to them.  Devon is such a super sweet, protective, loyal and a little sexy. He and Erin had been friends since childhood and connected over both coming from single parent homes. Erin is such a down to earth female lead and is easily likable. They are both very easy to connect with and you instantly fall in love with their blossoming relationship. Over the course of the series their relationship not only grows in the normal sense but also the sexual sense. Devon and Erin's sexual appetites evolve so drastically over the course of the entire series, in a good way. You can feel the sexual tension between the two of them. It isn't what defines their relationship though. They are very mature for their ages and handle situations extremely well. I was very happy with the way the series wound down.

Now the reasons for 4 stars instead of 5...
At time it felt like the situations were just a tad excessive for that of high school students and didn't really mesh well with the rest of the flow of the book. Especially Steve and his goons. That situation really just escalated over the course of the series and it just didn't entirely make sense. I guess those character never really had enough depth to them to make the escalation that occurred believable. The other situation that bothered me was Devon and Kristen. I didn't not like the way he reacted or interacted with Kristen when he was supposed to be with Erin.

If you are looking for a sweet, steamy and sexy read then give this series a shot.

 Just Say Yes
(Just Say Yes, #2)
by Jen Andrews

Synopsis

After an accident lands Zoey in the hospital, her life, once again, takes a turn in the wrong direction.

Andy starts acting differently and won’t talk to her about what is bothering him. He’s distant and broody, and the closer it gets to Zoey’s upcoming vacation, the more unsettling Andy’s behavior becomes.

Once Zoey leaves for vacation, life doesn’t get any easier for her, until she begins to volunteer at a local horse ranch. There she meets Josie, a former therapist, who spent her career helping orphans. While she is working at the ranch, unbeknownst to her, Josie is helping Zoey better herself and heal.

Zoey and Andy both realize they have issues from their troubling pasts that need to be dealt with during the month that Zoey is gone, and they agree to work on them. By the time she comes home, they’ve both succeeded at putting their previous tragedies behind them and are looking forward to their future together.

On what should be the happiest day of their lives, Andy is completely blindsided by disturbing news from his past. While Andy is away and trying desperately to find out if the information he’s received is true, Zoey suspects a life changing situation that could either ruin her and Andy, or make them completely whole.

Can their relationship survive Andy’s devastation, or will their lives fall apart forever? Will Zoey find it within her newfound strength to hold them together?

Book 1
The Reason
(Just Say Yes, #1)

Synopsis
Zoey James is in a funk. She has been through more in her twenty-three years than most people have experienced in their entire lives. After her ex-husband tries to take everything she’s worked so hard for, she makes one rule: Never date someone she works with.

When her father’s newly hired mechanic moves into the apartment above their family-run business, Zoey’s lonely life is flipped upside down.

As a teenager, New Zealand native, Andy Tate’s family is tragically killed in an accident, and he is taken in by his aunt and uncle. Andy is pulled away from the only place he’s ever known as home, and moved halfway around the world to Northern California.

Ten years and one failed marriage later, Andy finds himself living in a new city, with a new job at James Racing, and living in an apartment next door to Zoey, his new boss’s beautiful and damaged daughter.

After an interesting chain of events over one weekend, Andy and Zoey form an unexpected bond. Even though he’s the only one who can get through to her, she will do all that she can to keep him at a distance and not break her one rule.

Will Andy be the reason for Zoey to start living her life again, or will she continue on her downward spiral, until she finally hits rock bottom?

About the Author

Jen Andrews
I live in a small town in Northern California with my husband and all of our rescued pets. Like the main character, Zoey, in my upcoming book series, I come from a family of mechanics. My father is a mechanic, all of his brothers are/were mechanics at one time or another. I have never NOT been around hot rods! My husband is a mechanic as well, so we have a few of our own classic Chevys. I have always been an avid reader, and finally decided to try my hand at writing after I heard a song. Yes, a song! It may sound silly, but that one song stirred up all of these ideas and emotions, that I began writing the ideas down so I would maybe, someday, actually DO something with it. I started writing my "Just Say Yes" series in October of 2012 and have completed three books for Andy and Zoey, hopefully to be released soon!

✦Cover Reveal✦ Taste Test (Sensations Collections, #2) by L.B. Dunbar

Taste Test
(Sensations Collections, #2)
by L.B. Dunbar

In a modern twist of fairy tales, what if the beast is a woman instead of a man?

Ethan Scott
I was about to find out when a mysterious job led to the secluded home of a horror novelist. I’d lost everything: my scholarship, my education, and my way. In denial of my family inheritance, I took the unusual employment as a chance out of a hole, but I found myself buried in the unknown trauma of another situation much deeper.

Ella Vincentia
I had changed my name and my address to keep myself hidden, but my scars were more than physical. Living as a recluse in the woods, I was used to being alone, so I wasn’t happy when a certain someone was always in my space. Our first encounter was less than pleasant and tension continued at every attempt to tame me.

Secrets
I knew she was keeping secrets and I wanted to help, but she was cutting me down and cutting me off every time she opened her mouth. Our frustration with one another grew until a misunderstanding changed everything. How can I be the next guy after something so tragic? It was a challenge I wasn’t sure I was willing to take.

Book 1

Sound Advice
(Sensations Collections, #1)
by L.B. Dunbar

“Nana’s Rules to Live By”
Gentlemen should always open the door for a lady.

I was busy and I didn’t have time for a vacation, let alone a weekend away. When a frantic phone call from an old neighbor brought me to my grandmother’s summer home, I wasn’t prepared for an extended stay. And I especially wasn’t prepared for the man holding the door open to the radio repair shop who made a lasting first impression.

In attempts at a relationship, a gentleman should always make the first move.

Calling Jess Carter’s clenched jaw and denim-colored eyes part of his standoffish manner was an understatement. His brooding exterior bordered on being downright rude. From the moment I bumped into him, quite literally, our lives began to intertwine in a way that made me question what I wanted.

Children should be seen and not heard.

Jess had secrets and I was determined to get to the bottom of them. Even he didn’t know the solutions to all his problems, I wanted to help. In doing so, I might have drawn too close to the truth, forcing Jess to risk something he wasn’t sure he could chance again. I had decisions to make for myself and it’s hard to know whose advice to take when so many questions remain unanswered.

About the Author
L.B. Dunbar

I’d like to say I was always a writer. I’d also like to say that I wrote every day of my life since a child. That I took the teaching advice I give my former students because writing every day improves your writing. I’d like to say I have my ten-thousand hours that makes me a proficient writer. But I can’t say any of those things. I did dream of writing the “Great American Novel” until one day a friend said: Why does it have to be great? Why can’t it just be good and tell a story?

As a teenager, I wrote your typical love-angst poetry that did occasionally win me an award and honor me with addressing my senior high school class at our Baccalaureate Mass. I didn’t keep a journal because I was too afraid my mom would find it in the mattress where I kept my copy of Judy Blume’s Forever that I wasn’t allowed to read as a twelve year old.

I can say that books have been my life. I’m a reader. I loved to read the day I discovered “The Three Bears” as a first grader, and ever since then, the written word has been my friend. Books were an escape for me. An adventure to the unknown. A love affair I’d never know. I could be lost for hours in a book.

So why writing now? I had a story to tell. It haunted me from the moment I decided if I just wrote it down it would go away. But it didn’t. Three years after writing the first draft, a sign (yes, I believe in them) told me to fix up that draft and work the process to have it published. That’s what I did. But one story let to another, and another, and another. Then a new idea came into my head and a new storyline was created.

I was accused (that’s the correct word) of having an overactive imagination as a child, as if that was a bad thing. I’ve also been accused of having the personality of a Jack Russell terrier, full of energy, unable to relax, and always one step ahead. What can I say other than I have stories to tell and I think you’ll like them. If you don’t, that’s okay. We all have our book boyfriends. We all have our favorites. Whatever you do, though, take time for yourself and read a book.
